Don't text my heart

"Don't Text My Heart"
This saying adorns a hot pink t-shirt I got at the Revolve Tour.
I bought this shirt for two reasons.
Reason 1) Chad Eastham is gorgeous (and married...haha) I love him and his messages are so inspiring.
Reason 2) I believe in this saying 100%. I wear the shirt proudly, hoping that someone will ask me "What does your shirt mean?" Let me explain.
Technology rules too many relationships. The population I am talking about is mostly teenage, but text communication conquers a huge percentage of adult relationships also. Have you ever thought about falling in love with someone through TEXTING? Are you kidding me? If your heart can be won over by a cheap, worthless device, then what does that say about you? That question is very deep, and it made me think. I don't want to fall in love with a guy, learning about him by texting. If that is our only mean of communication, what's the point of even being in a relationship? I know this is harsh, but doing that makes me think you must be a coward. If you can't face the person you're falling for in REAL LIFE, not through a cell phone, you must be too afraid to communicate the way God meant for it to be.
Don't get me wrong, I love texting and think it is a great addition to technology. But too many people I know, adults and teens, are taking it to an extreme level by falling in love through texting. And you wonder why divorce rate is so high. 50% of marriages end in divorce. It is a sad but true part of reality.
And maybe you can text while falling in love, and learn that this guy/girl may have a little bit of Jesus in them. But fall in love for the Christ you see in their hearts, not the Christ you read in their text messages.
